UMBARU (15 July) – Local authorities in Umbaru prevented Spanish MSF (Doctors Without Borders) from travelling to Forawiya and Shegeef Karou area. Instead the authorities granted temporary permission to travel to Muzabt for just one hour.

Suliman  Jamous, the humanitarian affairs official of the Justice and Equality Movement said to Radio Dabanga that the measure was intended to deprive the citizens of taking advantage of health services provided by the organization. He deplored the conduct of local authorities.

The organization had initially obtained permission from El Fasher to go to those areas to study the health situation.
